A handheld aviation radio sits beside four empty call boxes. First the radio only receives: the pilot listens to the frequency before transmitting. Then the call is prepared in four numbered parts: 1 station, who you call; 2 callsign, who you are; 3 position, where you are; 4 intention, what you will do. The push-to-talk button is pressed, the radio transmits and each part is spoken in order. In the drone example the parts read: Kingaroy Traffic; Drone Alfa One; 2 nautical miles west, below 400 feet; 30 minutes, clear of the circuit. The button is released and the pilot listens again. Example wording only.
